Who doesn’t love pancakes? What’s not to like about them? Especially when they are made in such a way that you don’t feel stuffed after eating them. Here it is, I hope you like it:
- 80 gr flour
- 30 gr protein powder
- 1 whole egg
- 200 ml milk
Protein is one of the three macro-nutrients, which comprises our diet, alongside carbs and fats. In general, we should avoid glorifying or vilifying anyone of the three of them. Each one has an important role to play. Protein helps us feel more satiated, it doesn’t lead to bloating and that’s just one of the many reasons we should try to consume foods richer in protein. In this specific case I add it because it makes the recipe more balanced in terms of nutrients. Besides that, protein powder comes in tasty flavors and it adds a subtle sweetness and aroma to the pancakes. They come already sweet off the pan – what’s not to like? 🙂
We add all the ingredients in the blender, throw them in the pan and voila! I don’t use any kind of oil to grease the pan.
Personally I prefer pancakes, which are smaller in size. One of the reasons is that it allows me to try a greater variety of tastes at one sitting. In addition, the smaller the portion the less we consume overall. How much we eat depends on the portion size in front of us. It’s not up to willpower as many people believe. It’s almost beyond your awareness in your subliminal consciousness. That fact has been established by numerous studies. Think about the growing size of the portion size in the second half of the last century. It has led to the increase in the circumferences, as well.
So my friendly advice to you will be – keep it minimal and pretty, make it tasty, and enjoy every bite you have. Don’t rush it. 🙂
